wikipedia:multipass[1] (December 2019 [2])allows to orchestrate virtual Ubuntu instances. It uses KVM on Linux, Hyper-V on Windows and HyperKit on macOS, supported since July 2018[3], to run the VM with minimal overhead.

Usage:


macOS files location: /var/root/Library/Application Support/multipassd
