HPE ProLiant

Proliant is a popular x86 brand of server computers sell by HP with advanced features:

• Redundant and hot swappable power supplies
• Disk array controllers with hot swap disks: HPE ProLiant Smart Array Controllers
• Out of Band Management capabilities (HP Integrated Lights-Out or iLO)

HP provide drivers a software for managing servers such as Management Component Pack which includes

• HP online configuration utility (hponcfg)
• Agentless Management Service amsd
• Smart Storage Administrator (SSA) ssa
• Smart Storage Administrator (SSA) CLI ssacli
• Smart Storage Administrator Diagnostic Utility (SSADU) CLI ssaducli.

To install them follow installation instructions: apt-get install hponcfg amsd ssa ssacli ssaducli

Binaries provides by amsd package: amsd_rev amsd smad cpqiScsi smad_rev ahslog mr_cpqScsi

2. Identify characteristics of most popular models: DL380 (up to 2 CPUs/24-DIMM slots) and /DL580/.

4. Use your browser to /Access to iLO/
5. /Remove a disk from your redundant storage array and review OS logs/ and verify output from ssacli ctrl slot=0 pd all show status
6. Read page about /HPE ProLiant Smart Array Controllers/
7. Enter HP Proliant iLO SSA aplication by pressing F9 and configure your disk array.
