Prometheus Alertmanager

Prometheus Alertmanager handles alerts sent by client applications such as the Prometheus server.

It takes care of

• Deduplicating
• Silencing and inhibition
• Grouping
• Routing to the correct receiver integration such as email, PagerDuty or OpsGenie.

• amtool cli tool is included with all releases of Alertmanager for interacting with the Alertmanager API

Installation

• Installation: apt install prometheus-alertmanager
• docker run --name alertmanager -d -p 127.0.0.1:9093:9093 quay.io/prometheus/alertmanager
• Binaries:
  • amtool
  • prometheus-alertmanager
• Configuration: /etc/prometheus/alertmanager.yml
