wikipedia:Let's Encrypt project was started in 2012 and provides X.509 certificates for Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption at no charge. Internet Security Research Group, the Californian public-benefit corporation behind Let's Encrypt, was incorporated in May 2013.
Let's Encrypt certificate are valid for 90 days. Let's Encrypt do not support certificates for IP address. https://github.com/certbot/certbot/issues/1985#issuecomment-166733399
